PLANETSIDE®2 CLOSED BETA ON THE PLAYSTATION®4 BEGINS JANUARY 20, 2015
The first wave of PlayStation®4 players is set to deploy to Auraxis on January 20, 2015. Today, Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) announced that the critically-acclaimed, free-to-play massively multiplayer online first-person shooter (MMOFPS), PlanetSide®2, will enter Closed Beta for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) computer entertainment system in North America this month.
Starting with a few thousand initial invites, the amount of players with access to the Closed Beta will steadily increase through the Beta period. Players will be invited to the Beta in chronological order of when they signed up. Players can opt in by email for a chance to participate in the Closed Beta through the PlanetSide 2 website:https://www.planetside2.com/ps2onps4. The ideal console platform for PlanetSide 2, the PlayStation 4 will showcase the beauty, depth and frenetic open-world combat found in game like never before. Activision Publishing, Inc. and Nickelodeon are taking you under the sea by teaming up with SpongeBob SquarePants and his Bikini Bottoms friends in SpongeBob™ HeroPants, a new video game based on Nickelodeon's hit-animated TV series. This action platformer arrives in March on Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system, PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system and PlayStation®TV.
All is not well in Bikini Bottom following the events of Paramount Pictures' The SpongeBob™ Movie: Sponge Out of Water, the new animated/live-action feature film hitting UK cinema screens on 27th March. SpongeBob's dreams are coming to life and altering space and time beneath the waves. SpongeBob must join forces with his friends to unlock their hidden abilities and put back the pieces of his shattered cartoon psyche. Turtle Beach continues to aggressively expand its presence in the PC gaming market. Following up on the recent launches of its new Star Wars and Heroes of the Storm PC gaming headsets, at CES the company is announcing a new Call of Duty® Online PC Gaming Headset for the Chinese market. In addition, a new line of PC gaming accessories will be showcased at CES that recently launched in Germany and will be coming to other markets in the spring of 2015.

The new PC gaming headset, which features Call of Duty® branding and artwork, has 50mm neodymium speakers, an in-line controller with master volume and mic controls, and a removable boom microphone. The headset offers universal PC compatibility out of the box to connect with gaming desktops, laptops and ultrabooks.

Developed by Raven Software, Call of Duty Online is the first free-to-play Call of Duty® in the world, showcasing fan-favorite game modes from previous Call of Duty titles along with localised, unique content tailored specifically for the Chinese audience. Activision partnered with Tencent, one of China’s largest Internet and entertainment companies, to publish, market, and distribute the game in China. The public open beta for Call of Duty Online launches later this month in China.

DFC International has estimated that the market for PC gaming headsets reached $55 million in 2014 and will expand to $200 million by 2016. China is the world’s largest PC gaming software market, estimated to be 2.5 times larger than the number two market, the United States. More than 225 million people are estimated to be playing video games in China and 65 million are considered hardcore gamers.

Visitors to CES will get hands-on experience with a new selection of Turtle Beach branded PC gaming accessories, including keyboards, mice and mousepads. For the first time since the launch of the Skylanders® franchise, two entirely new elements – Light and Dark – will be unleashed in the world of Skylands, announced Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI). Two new Trap Masters - Knight Mare and Knight Light, will hit store shelves nationwide this festive season, via special Light and Dark Elemental Quest Packs, ushering in new adventures in the lore of Skylanders® Trap Team. Each Elemental Quest Pack contains a Trap Master, a special Trap capable of capturing either Light or Dark villains, as well as a location piece that unlocks a special level in the game. The Light and Dark Elemental Quest Packs will be available at all major retailers nationwide.
Portal Masters will have the opportunity to explore new levels within the Skylanders Trap Team universe, where they will find never-before-seen villains to capture and environments to explore.
