Round 1: Fight! Capcom Pro Tour Returns to EGX 2015
EGX Fight Zone ranking event features largest ever prize pot
Gamer Network, the world’s leading network of independent video games websites and producer of the UK’s premiere video games events, prominent fighting video games publisher Capcom and veteran fighting tournament organisers Unequalled Media, today announced the Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) will return to EGX this September with the EGX Fight Zone Pro Tour Ranking Event.
The Capcom Pro Tour is the world’s largest competitive fighting game championship, featuring the most popular fighting game on the planet: Ultra Street Fighter™ IV. Players from across the globe battle through a yearlong tournament circuit in order to claim one of the 32 qualification spots for the year-end Capcom Cup. Fifteen contestants will qualify from the ranking point leaderboards, with EGX being a crucial event in the calendar.
The EGX Fight Zone ranking event - operated by Unequalled Media - will be one of the most exciting CPT tournament events on the circuit. Seventy-two players from all over the country face-off in Ultra Street Fighter™ IV on the main EGX stage, Sunday 27th September. Not only do the top 16 winners receive Capcom Pro Tour ranking points, for the first time this year there will be a £2000 prize pot for the top 3.
All 72 finalists are selected during the EGX Qualification Series, taking place in numerous offline and online qualifiers between now and Sunday 27th September. Unequalled Media have teamed up with tournament organisers in London, Essex, Leicester, Southampton, Manchester, Leeds, Scotland, Brighton and Birmingham to cater to players throughout the UK.

Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced the Season Pass and Premium Edition for Batman™: Arkham Knight, the epic conclusion to the award-winning Arkham trilogy from Rocksteady Studios. European Cosplay Gathering Chooses EGX for UK Competition
Gamer Network, the world’s leading network of independent video games websites and producer of the UK’s premiere video games events, and European Cosplay Gathering (ECG), Europe’s premier cosplay competition, today announced the UK Preliminaries will be held for the first time at this September’s event. With 11 European countries participating, the internationally recognised European Cosplay Gathering is one of the largest cosplay events on the continent. The UK Preliminaries – held on the dedicated EGX cosplay stage – will take place on Sunday 27th September, and are open to UK passport-holders and permanent residents aged 17 and over. Whether passionate about video games, comics or anime, ECG encourages all styles of cosplay and costuming. The overall winning individual and group will be selected to represent the UK in an ‘all expenses’ trip to the finals at Japan Expo - held in Paris in July 2016. Further to the EGC UK Preliminaries, EGX 2015 will see the return of the firmly established EGX Cosplay Championship - in association with cosplay organiser Zonic Productions - on Saturday 26th September. Major Updates for Dying LightDeveloper Tools |’Beyond Dying Light’ Contest Announced
In an official teaser video, Techland revealed its plans to further extend the capabilities of the Dying Light Developer Tools. To help players fulfill all their creative ideas for original Dying Light content, Techland will continue to expand the editor with regular updates, including new features as terrain creation & editing, custom models import,and multiplayer support.
In collaboration with Nvidia, Techland also announced the ‘Beyond Dying Light’ contest. All users of the Dying Light Developer Tools who upload and submit their openly available maps by May 11, 2015 have a chance to win an ASUS GTX 980 Strix graphics card and exclusive Dying Light merch. At the same time, an additional three episodes of the Developer Tools video tutorials were released. These new videos explain how to use advanced lighting on maps and how to make good use of enemy zombies. A second wave of new videos, focused on quest design, will be published next week.
