Deadfall Adventures Cover Art and New Screenshots Revealed

Nordic Games today revealed the cover art as well as new screenshots for their blockbuster release of Deadfall Adventures, out on the Xbox 360 and Windows PC September 27th. In keeping with the style of Deadfall Adventures, the beautifully created cover-art  takes its inspiration from the Lost World genre of literature, popularised  in the early 20th century through novels such as King Solomon’s Mines and  The Land That Time Forgot  that depicted the discovery of unexplored and exotic worlds. The cover art also pays tribute to the science-fiction and adventure “Pulp” magazines of the same era that gave rise to one of the greatest treasure hunters and pulp action heroes of all time  -  Indiana Jones.

Developed using Unreal Engine 3, Deadfall Adventures is full of spectacular jaw-dropping moments, as players battle natural and not-so-natural enemies across stormy deserts of Egypt to the icy depths of the Arctic and all the way to the steaming jungles of Guatemala.  Assuming the role of adventurer Quatermain, players will encounter fiendish puzzles, deadly traps and stunning set pieces, making this one of the greatest adventures ever told – let alone played.

Official Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Vengeance DLC Map Pack Preview Video UK

ACTIVISION AND TREYARCH REVEAL THAT CALL OF DUTY®: BLACK OPS II
VENGEANCE CAN BE YOURS ON 2ND JULY

Third Downloadable Content Pack Coming First, Exclusively on Xbox Live, Fully Loaded with Four All-New Multiplayer Maps, Including a Re-Imagined Classic,
and the Epic, New Zombies Experience, “Buried”

Call of Duty®: Black Ops II Vengeance is available first, exclusively on the Xbox Live® online entertainment network from Microsoft beginning 2nd July. Vengeance, the game’s third epic Downloadable Content (DLC) Pack from Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard (Nasdaq: ATVI) and its award-winning studio Treyarch, takes players to four diverse locations around the globe, including a deserted tropical island, a destroyed suspension bridge, an abandoned paintball course and the jungles of Myanmar.  Vengeance also serves up a new addition to the game’s esteemed Zombies experience with “Buried,” where the undead residents of an abandoned subterranean Old West mining town have come back to claim their home.

“When it’s difficult to see the line between playtesting and leisurely gaming around the studio, it’s a sure sign that we’ve created something fun with Vengeance,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch.  “From the four multiplayer maps to our new Zombies experience, “Buried,” Vengeance continues doing what we set out to accomplish from the very beginning of development on Call of Duty: Black Ops II: pushing the boundaries of fans’ expectations.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Vengeance delivers four new, diverse multiplayer maps starting with “Cove,” where the stage is set for all-out conflict on this small, forgotten island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, with players battling it out amongst the wreckage of a jet that crash-landed during a smuggling operation gone wrong.  Next up is “Detour,” a destroyed suspension bridge, high above an East Coast waterway, packed with scattered vehicles, exposed iron and collapsed pavement where the head-to-head action will play out on multiple levels.  The third map, “Rush,” sets the stage for fast, close-quarters engagements in this paintball course turned full-combat arena, giving players new opportunities and challenges to use the cover to their advantage.  Rounding outVengeance’s multiplayer maps is “Uplink.”  In this re-imagined adaptation of the fan-favorite multiplayer map “Summit” from the original Call of Duty®: Black Ops, players clash deep in the rain-soaked jungles of Myanmar, high atop a hi-tech mountain facility.

Treyarch yet again expands the Zombies storyworld in new, mind-bending ways with “Buried.”  Players meet up with old characters and will encounter new ones as they face off against the undead residents of an abandoned underground Old West mining town.  A healthy arsenal of equipment and weapons that will be at players’ disposal, but with one very special addition – something so powerful it will also appear in all other Call of Duty: Black Ops II Zombies maps (with the purchase of Vengeance DLC): the Ray Gun Mark II.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Vengeance will be available first, exclusively on Xbox Live for Xbox 360® game and entertainment system from Microsoft for 1200 Microsoft Points on 2nd July, with other platforms to follow.  Call of Duty: Black Ops II is rated PEGI 18.  More information on Call of Duty: Black Ops II can be found athttp://www.callofduty.com/blackops2 or on www.facebook.com/codblackops.  Fans can also follow @Treyarch on Twitter.

Turtle Beach Ear Force PX22

If you mention gaming headsets to people they instantly think Turtle Beach, so having reviewed many other top brand names we were champing at the bit to get started with these all new Ear Force PX22 wired headphones.

But steady on, let's start off with the packaging, yes packaging, let's all be honest here if the packaging looks
poor it puts us off of a bit. it has to be appealing to the eye in a store in order for people to want to buy it. Then when they get it home, they want the quality and care to start there and then. I was very impressed to see that the PX22 packaging is tight and tidy, no need for over doing the amount of inner plastic like some do! So well done to Turtle Beach for thinking of the environment :).

Moving over to the headset itself, we here at Games Booth have found it very annoying how many of the headset manufactures seem to make them way to heavy for your head to cope with - resulting in headaches, eye strain and often swiftly followed by neck strain, which ultimately reduces your game playing time and the overall enjoyment! With the PX22 headset all of the above is a thing of the past! These bad boys are comfortable to wear for hours on end. They're very light so you can almost forget you even have them on :). They cup your ears fully holding in the quality sound for your enjoyment - hell you could hear a pin drop with these! Tested with my usual stalwarts of Assassins Creed 3 and Battlefield 3 the ability to pick up the softer, detailed sounds are more of a must have then powerful, overbearing bangs! That said, the dynamic chat boost function automatically raises the volume of chat during intense, explosive game situations

So all you Call Of Duty fans out there look no further than a set of these babies.

So onto the headset, the new Ear Force PX22 by Turtle Beach is being pitched as a universal headset that I should test with my games consoles as well as my mobile devices. It’s compatible with PCs, the Xbox 360, as well as the PS3. It has independent treble, bass, and game/chat controls on its in-line remote. I guess the question, is will it be compatible with the Xbox One or PS4 though?

On the left hand side of the earphone is the mic, it’s not detachable, but does have a very flexible arm. What you do need to remember with this headset is that you need to retract the mic, using the lower part, otherwise you’ll just bend the flexible bit back and not actually turn the mic upwards towards the head – so remember to twist it from the bottom.

This is a wired headset, so it does have a cable, but it's a 16ft long cable which also contains the inline amplifier unit - which enhances the sound immensely and enables you to play with the mic settings, more importantly the chat settings. So if you like to hear the sound of your own voice above others you can - equally you can block out the ambient noises.  I do like having the freedom of wireless - I have to be honest.  Plus when you've got kids and a dog, having a wire that goes across the lounge from sofa to screen isn't ideal at all.  But, hey in the gaming room where nothing wanders into my path (just my virtual one) this isn't an issue.
As mentioned this headset is multi talented as it's can be connected to pretty much any device with a 3.5mm connection - you can hook up to consoles for gaming, or to watch movies via internet feeds on your console.  You can also connect to your mobile device and listen to music or mobile game etc. Thanks to the inline controls and the mic etc you can clearly make and receive calls.

I thoroughly enjoyed testing the Ear Force PX22 and can understand why people rate these earphones. They're great value for money at only £69.99, so you should invest in a set of these now!  BTW have you noticed that you can purchase them directly from Games Booth - just click the advert above. :)
