KONAMI ANNOUNCES BIRDS OF STEEL SHIPPING TO RETAIL STORES NATIONWIDE

Air Combat Simulator Gives Budding Aviators A Chance to Take to the Sky During WWII's Most Famous Dogfights

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced Birds of Steel is shipping to retail stores nationwide. The flight simulation game, available on Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, takes players to the most intense moments of World War II to give them the most realistic flight simulation available.

Developed by Gaijin Entertainment, Birds of Steel lets players take to the skies in over 100 famous fighters from the entire axis and allied forces, including the Spitfire Mk.V, P-51 Mustang, A6M Zero and the F4F Wildcat. Players can pilot planes in the American, European or Japanese fighting forces and experience lifelike aircraft damage, cockpit views and flight controls.  As players complete missions, new planes are unlocked, letting players jump in the cockpit, grab stick and engage in both single and multiplayer campaigns, while doing battle in some of the most iconic moments in history, including the Battle of Midway, Guadalcanal, Coral Sea and the attack on Pearl Harbor.

In Birds of Steel's unique multiplayer features, players can support cooperative missions with friends, or take-off in the versus arena with up to 16 other pilots to see who really owns the skies. Pilots can participate in team death matches, cooperative strike campaigns, "Capture the Airfield" missions or even tournament play (requires Xbox Live and online functionality). Aerial aviators can now take to the skies rewriting history in the most faithfully recreated World War II simulation game ever created!
