To celebrate today's launch of Dishonored (www.dishonored.com), one of the UK's most recognisable architectural wonders 'The Shard' has been recreated in the style of the game's Victorian, industrial and steampunk design by the highly respected Viktor Antonov and Sebastien Mitton.

London and Edinburgh were the key influences behind the game world of Dishonored, and to celebrate this, the developers have re-imagined The Shard to reflect the style of the game in three never seen before images.

Dishonored is set in the fictitious whaling city of Dunwall, a world heavily influenced in design by the architecture, inhabitants and atmosphere of London and Edinburgh.

During the game's development, Dishonored's artistic developers visited each city extensively to study the key aspects to help them create a world that merged our two capitals, twisted iconic landmarks and re-imagined our rich heritage to produce an alternative look on how these cities may have been if history had taken another route.

In addition to this image, numerous other concept images were created and included within the game that re-imagined iconic architecture, buildings and monuments including:
  • London Bridge
  • Big Ben
  • The London cityscape

Dishonored is already being touted by many media as 2012's video game of the year, with its artistic direction, story, originality and gameplay all standout aspects that set it apart from its rivals.
