So, for a while every
little boy I knew was into Ben 10 but because my son is much older now, I don’t
know if this still rings true. I suspect in some universe or should I say
Omniverse it is –otherwise this game wouldn’t have been released and I wouldn’t
be writing this review.
In this game you play the
hero Ben who, with a new friend Rook and the use of your amazing Omnitrix -
which is a fancy watch to you and me that doesn’t give you the time, but rather
the ability to change into one of thirteen amazing super alien species, you
need to defeat the enemy and save the world.
With each species having unique strengths and
abilities you need to make sure you select the right one for the job. I’ll tell you a little more about the aliens
later in the review, but first the storyline. This takes Ben through his
lifetime, discovering how events from his past have affected his future. You can choose to play as a young, or teen
Ben as you travel through 11 levels of action in your attempts to defeat the
villain that is threatening the world.
What is interesting to see
is that there is a two player mode available on PS3 (not on DS or 3DS), which
enables the player to have a real mate on board playing Rook and using his
powerful, multifunction ProtoTool.
As mentioned there are
thirteen aliens available to Ben including the original StinkFly, HeatBlast and
Four Arms and a few newer ones namely Bloxx, ShockSquatch and GraveAttack - each one as fun as the other!
All boys will love this as
a fun, action game – it’ll hold their attention for quite a while and because
of the two player mode they can play over and over again with different mates.
Every Fan of Ben 10 should
own this on one platform or another.
