Get ready for the UK’s biggest gaming festival: Insomnia 48

Take on the best of the best and walk away with up to £10,000

Multiplay, a leading provider of community gaming, game server hosting, events management and broadcast services, is pleased to announce the final line-up for Insomnia 48. Taking place on 22nd-25th March at the Telford International Centre, i48 pits 1,000 of the best gamers against each other to compete for prize funds of up to £10,000 per tournament.

i48 represents the first time the UK public has the opportunity to go hands-on with Injustice: Gods Among Us, an all-new game in development by award-winning NetherRealm Studios. The title debuts a bold new fighting game franchise that introduces a deep, original story featuring a large cast of favourite DC Comics. Injustice: Gods Among Us is due for release on April 19th for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.

i48’s biggest tournaments this year include the not to be missed Starcraft II tournament, part of the ESET UK Masters, offering players a final prize pool of £10,000, while Call of Duty Black Ops II breaks from cover with a prize pool of over £4,000.

The Team Fortress 2 tournament offers a guaranteed prize pot of £1,000 and the League of Legends Razer Cup continues to be a huge draw with a £2,500 prize pool. Multiplayer stalwart Counter Strike: Global Offensive pulls no punches with a colossal tournament sponsored by Madcatz, with a prize fund of £4,000. Breaking barriers for all ages, Minecraft continues to be a big favourite, with tournaments offering up to £1,000 taking place across all four days.

“At Multiplay, we believe in offering the best showcase for competitive gaming, and Insomnia 48 promises to deliver our best event yet”, said Craig Fletcher, Multiplay CEO. “There’s no other event in the UK that offers such a wide variety of competitions, with the most skilled players in the world all meeting under one roof on March 22nd. You too can join us to test your skills, compete against the world’s best, or simply see some of the best PC and console games around at the UK’s largest gaming festival.”

Far and away the biggest e-sports tournaments in the UK, the Insomnia series is not to be missed, with spaces to compete in the tournaments still available online on the Multiplay website (http://iseries.multiplay.co.uk/). Multiplay’s previous event, Insomnia 47 generated over five million page views and over half a million video views over the course of four days, with i48 expected to be even more popular with fans.

More last minute news and updates will be announced over the coming days, so for the most up-to-date line-up, visit the official website at http://iseries.multiplay.co.uk/.
