GLOBAL GAMING INITIATIVE LAUNCHES TO TRANSFORM GAMERS INTO GIVERS

New mobile game publisher seeks to inspire the smartphone generation

Global Gaming Initiative today revealed plans to deliver “change in your pocket” by using mobile gaming as a means to connect people with worldwide causes. CEO and Founder Elizabeth Sarquis' mission is to inspire a generation of smartphone users to give back and transform the relationship between technology and society in the process.

“The concept is simple. This initiative is about teaching a generation about the value of giving in a medium they understand – the smartphone game," said Sarquis. "At our core, we are a game publisher that creates compelling, fun mobile games that better our world.”

The company’s first product is a shining example of the concept. Global Gaming Initiative's Sidekick Cycle promotes real-world social change with engaging, creative gameplay. Fifty percent of the proceeds from sales and in-app purchases of this downhill cycling racer will go directly to World Bicycle Relief, which gives sturdy, high-quality bikes to people in the developing world. Every 387 downloads of Sidekick Cycle buys a new bicycle for someone in need. GGI plans to extend this concept to other charitable organizations through mobile games that are thematically tied to the cause.

Sidekick Cycle will be available in June on iOS devices for £0.69. For more information on Global Gaming Initiative, visitwww.globalgaminginitiative.com.
