If Mario met Moshi Monsters then this game would be the result!  Featuring Katsuma, one of the original Moshi's and a much loved favourite of many a young Moshi fan - especially the boys, this is a traditional platform game that is very similar to the original Mario games.  As Katsuma you traverse platforms, jump gaps and tackle your each level head on.  In each level you also need to save the captured Moshlings and find pieces of a gold coin. To complete and level totally this needs to be done - however its not that straight forward.  The Moshlings are always hidden 'off the beaten track' and many times an additional super power is needed, which is not achieved until further in the game.

So, what does this mean? This means that you can't complete the game from playing the level once! You have to play the game, go along the levels, find the coin pieces and collect the gems. Then once you have beaten a boss, which arises every 3/4 levels and free one of the Moshi's you gain the ability to use their super power.  For instance, once you have successfully beaten the first boss you gain Fury's super punch - you then need to go back to the first level and rescue the trapped moshling from an area that needs punching through.

This continuous gameplay means that there's hours of fun in this game.  With 18 levels (lands) to discover on the map, many enemies to squash and lots of jumping, spinning, bouncing to do it's a fun, platform game for any age.

Of course, it's aimed at the youngster and Moshi Fan, but everyone from those who purchased the previous Moshi games -  Moshi Monster: Moshling Zoo and Moshi Monster: Theme Park to those who have never played a Moshi game will certainly have fun playing this.   For anyone who's a standard platform gamer then please don't let the fact that its Moshi Monsters put you off - because it is in fact a good, laid back platform game that can be enjoyed on the bus or on the sofa on a wet, winter evening.

Available now on the DS for approx £20 and the 3DS for £25 - £30 (depending on where you purchase it), For 3DS fans it makes use of the StreetPass functionality which unlocks new maps and monster attack games starring other Moshi favourites.

So go ahead, add this to your Christmas list!
