SQUARE ENIX COLLECTIVE SUCCESS #1
Moon Hunters successfully Kickstarted and heading to PC and PS4
That’s right folks… the Kickstarter campaign for MOON HUNTERS, the myth-weaving RPG from Kitfox Games, not only achieved its initial funding goal in less than 48 hours – it’s now achieved over CAD 100,000 – more than 220% funding, with over two weeks still remaining!
So what does this mean for gamers, we hear you ask?
Well, Kitfox Games now have the funding they need to bring the game to both PlayStation 4 and PC - and have also achieved 5 other stretch goals, including a new faction, a new playable class and a new cooking module. The most recent stretch goal adds online co-op multiplayer for PC gamers.
The Kitfox team has now added a range of new stretch goals, including pet familiars, another friendly faction, a PlayStation Vita version of the game (at CAD 135,000) and localisation into French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian (CAD 145,000).
“The past couple of weeks have been really amazing, and all of us at Kitfox would like to thank the community for their support,” said Tanya Short, lead designer on Moon Hunters. “It’s been pretty overwhelming, but we’re super-excited we can afford to work on our dream game!”

And with MOON HUNTERS going strong, Square Enix Collective has announced that the next project it will be supporting through its Kickstarter campaign is BLACK THE FALL, an atmospheric side-scrolling shooter with puzzle-solving elements.
“We’re all really happy for the Kitfox team, and can’t wait to play Moon Hunters once it’s finished,” said Phil Elliott, project lead at Collective. “We’ve learned a huge amount over the past few months, and as we continue to support Moon Hunters, we’re looking forward to supporting the next project in Black The Fall as well.”
The funding campaign behind BLACK THE FALL is expected to launch in the next few weeks and more information can be found here:http://collective.square-enix.com/projects/20/black-the-fall
Square Enix Collective is a platform that aims to help independent developers find an audience for their projects, by enabling them to tap into our community and media resources. Projects which gamers support through the initial Feedback phase may be offered continued support through crowdfunding too; but developers are free to choose whether to accept, and always retain IP and complete creative control over their projects.
