It’s time to fly into some arcade action on Xbox Live Arcade with City Interactive’s release of Dogfight 1942
Breathing new life into the aerial combat genre, City Interactive today released Dogfight 1942 for Xbox Live Arcade. Combining the pick-up-and play-ease of an arcade game, with the depth and production value typically reserved for traditional retail-only game releases, Dogfight 1942’s fast dynamic gameplay delivers big thrills at an incredible value.
“Being fans of flying games, it was disheartening to see the genre largely unrepresented on the various digital distribution platforms like XBLA, which is why we created a game that was both exciting and easily accessible,” said Lukasz Hacura, Executive Producer at City Interactive. “The depth, quality and great price of Dogfight 1942 will keep players flying in the skies for hours.”
A fast-paced, WWII air combat game, Dogfight 1942 features more than 20 types of aircraft --from the fabled P-38 Lightning and Britain’s Spitfire to the feared Messerschmitt 109 and Japanese Kate – and three unique game modes, Dogfight, Survival and Campaign, where players are challenged with the same real-life missions faced by WWII pilots, ranging from bombing runs and dog fights, to manning gun emplacements on a bomber or anti-aircraft site.
In designing the game, City Interactive implemented incredibly intuitive controls to reduce the need for lengthy tutorials and allow any level of gamer to get up and flying. At the same time, the gameplay remains extremely competitive so that even the most ardent flight game fan will enjoy a challenge.
Dogfight 1942 is currently available for download on Xbox Live Arcade for 1200 Microsoft Points, and available for download later this year on Sony PlayStation Network and Steam. More information can be found online at www.city-interactive.com.
