Dead Island Riptide Review!

Well where do we start with this follow up to 2011's Dead Island? I guess the beginning would be appropriate!

OK' you start your journey on a cruise ship heading to the stunning island of Palanai.  All sounds great doesn't it.

But don't get to comfy, as things are about to get a lot more entertaining. Well you didn't expect to be alone did you? Or maybe you thought your cruise buddies where plain old Mr & Mrs Smith. You're woken by the sounds of the sirens, quick the engine room is alight and this baby is gonna go down if you don't put that fire out! But wait, the crew, they're not normal - either that or they didn't sleep well either. Shit they're Zombies, just what this holiday ordered. Commence the Zombie bashfest - kick, punch, roundhouse or grab something and beat the 'living dead' parrdon the pun, out of these dudes - lets get this ship back on course.

This sequel offers up new Characters such as John Morgan, or enables you to use an old favourite and even allows you to import your character and his/her progress from the first game. Whatever character you choose you're gonna need some zombie bashing talent to make it through this game without becoming meat!

So the Zombie crew have been cleared and you've raised the anchor  - job done? Nah that would be too easy right! As you would guess you failed ''Boom''   you wake to a blur with the waves crashing against your body. You've washed up on the most beautiful island of Palanai, this is where you meet Xian & Sam  who are looking out along the beach line to see if anyone else survived the impact of the collision.

Here your journey begins and could quite well end if your not quick on your toes? You head off to the medical centre to try and fix yourself up a bit before your quest beckons!

Basically this game is simply a Zombie fest, play alone or join up with others and drive, steer and wade your way around the island, killing Zombie infestations along the way and by any means.  I might add that there are differing levels/ types of zombies, exploders, spitters etc, but all need to meet the same fate before you do.

Bare in mind that you should also loot the dead, hunt in semi hidden caves, walk to the far ends of the shore line etc because there are additional weapons and treasures across the island. It's not all Zombies - just 85% of it! I found I just couldn't help myself looting the dead along the far reaches of the stunning yellow sands and crystal clear waters!

One little hint - make sure to upgrade the ''lockpin'  you will need this for some of the boxes. Also make sure you look in all the nook's and crannies. as you might find some hidden goodies & boxes?  There isn't much of a story to be honest, but what there is I don't want to spoil so will leave that to you. Just go ahead and enjoy zombie bashing, blood curdling, gut spilling, mind numbing shit kicking!
