PLANET JEDWARD MEETS THE DISNEY UNIVERSE
Twins don classic Disney outfits to celebrate launch of new Disney Universe game Suited up as Goofy and Aladdin, pop duo Jedward today celebrated the launch of Disney’s brand new fast-paced, multi-player action adventure video game, Disney Universe at the GAME concession of Hamleys, Regent Street.
Disney Universe brings together classic and contemporary Disney and Pixar characters for the first time, so the twins, dressed as two of their favourite Disney icons, met with hoards of screaming fans before announcing their participation in a one-off “Suit Up Challenge”.
The Irish popsters, famed for dressing up, have been challenged to use all manner of wonderful props and costumes to show off the multitude of Disney Universe characters. Choosing from over 40 Disney and PIXAR icons, Jedward will attempt numerous outfit changes to bring as many of them to life as possible. The results of this “Suit Up Challenge” will be filmed for an exclusive video, which will go live online in November.
In the video game players are asked to ‘Suit Up’ as iconic Disney and PIXAR characters such as Mickey Mouse, Simba or Tron, before facing challenges in six classic Disney worlds, including Alice in Wonderland, Monsters Inc and The Lion King . Players battle enemies to save the Universe by defeating numerous villains and overcoming various tasks and challenges. Jedward’s video will see the twosome traversing all six worlds in an array of different costumes.
Jedward declared: “Disney Universe is so cool, you suit up as different Disney characters and then fight to save the Universe. It’s the perfect game for us: team work plus dressing up! We’re really looking forward to the “Suit-up Challenge”, we’ve been practising outfit changes for weeks!” Iain Riches, Senior Game Producer for Disney Universe, said: “Disney Universe is all about fast-paced, mischievous, crazy fun and we think the Suit-Up Challenge really encapsulates this.”
Disney Universe is available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and to download on PC from today.
