The UK’s biggest video games event moves back to London to deliver it’s best show to date

Gamer Network, organisers of the UK’s leading video games events, is excited to announce that tickets are now available to purchase for EGX 2019 which returns to London this year, taking over ExCeL London for 4 days from the 17th to the 20th of October 2019.

Promising to be the best show yet, EGX 2019 - sponsored by Virgin Media - will feature more than 1,500 screens of interactive entertainment with blockbuster triple-A titles from the world’s biggest publishers sitting alongside a huge collection of innovative indie games in the Rezzed Zone. The show will also feature esports, retro gaming and meet and greets with notable personalities from YouTube and Twitch.

Meanwhile, the Developer Sessions and Rezzed Sessions will bring attendees the latest news on some of the world’s most exciting pre-release games and deep dive insights into the game development process.

The GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair will offer invaluable advice to those seeking to begin a career in games and the GamesIndustry.biz Trade Zone will be a vital destination for members of the UK trade looking to network.

Mortal Kombat Mobile releases MK11 characters in 2.0 update  

The world’s most viscerally “fatalistic” franchise just got a major mobile upgrade:
 
NeatherRealm Studios today announced its 2.0 update for Mortal Kombat X Mobile, officially renaming the game to Mortal Kombat to better reflect its vast content and character roster. The game will also be the primary platform for all of Mortal Kombat’s mobile experiences moving forward.

With the release of Mortal Kombat 11 approaching, those who can’t wait to sink their teeth (or kunai) into their enemies can now play as featured MK11 gold characters in a new timed game mode, Trial Challenges.

All MK11 characters will have the same Crushing Blows and Fatal Blows as their console versions. These include:

• MK11 Raiden and MK11 Jade are powerful Gold characters that provide a unique synergy when paired together. Players can add them to their roster by completing tiers in the new Trials mode.
• MK11 Scorpion can be earned through Faction War rewards. As one of the most powerful characters in the game, Scorpion boasts high base stats and the ability to provide a Lethal Blow chance to his MK11 teammates.

An additional 23 existing Gold characters have also ascended to Diamond Tier with updated passive skills, stat increases and increased team synergy, allowing even more creative and strategic gameplay.

Along with a fresh UI design, a new Quest Map and a slew of different store items, the Mortal Kombat mobile has also been upgraded to Unreal Engine 4, so players can enjoy all the bone-crunching savagery with improved graphics and performance.

First of Three PUBG Classics Coming in April with the FACEIT Global Summit

PUBG Corporation is giving professional teams in the league a shot at extra fortune and glory on their way to the PUBG Global Championship with the introduction of PUBG Classics. These international competitions will punctuate the first two phases of professional competition in PUBG Esports, drawing teams from all over the world to live events in major cities for hefty prize pools.

The first of three PUBG Classics will take place April 16-21 with the FACEIT Global Summit: PUBG Classic. After the conclusion of Phase 1, the FACEIT Global Summit: PUBG Classic will bring teams from every competitive region including Europe, Korea, North America and China, and pit them against each other at ExCeL London with a $400,000 prize pool on the line. Each region will qualify teams through their various pro level competitions to compete at this first PUBG Classic.

Later in the year, additional international events will cap Phase 2. Teams from North America, Europe, Oceania, and Latin America have a chance to qualify for a PUBG Classic event in Europe, while teams from China, Korea, Southeast Asia, Chinese Taipei and Japan will be vying for a spot at a soon-to-be-revealed PUBG Classic in Asia.

The top three performing regions at the FACEIT Global Summit, as determined by a region’s best finishing team, will secure an additional slot for that region at the PUBG Global Championship. At each subsequent PUBG Classic, an additional slot will be awarded to the top performing region in the same way.

In the meantime, fans can tune into their regional leagues and all the other pro PUBG competitions as teams battle for spots in the first-of-its-kind event.

The brash action star and martial artist returns with an older and wiser mindset but still remains quick with his trademark snark and won’t let anyone forget he’s still number one. Cage now fights against all odds to save EarthRealm and prove that he's an even braver hero in real-life than on the silver screen. 

Johnny Cage is the latest playable character to join the growing roster of Mortal Kombat 11 fighters, alongside Scorpion, Raiden, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Skarlet, Baraka, Geras, Kano, D'Vorah, Kabal and Jade.
