Nintendo 3DS Delivers Complementary Experience to Console Game On 10th October with 14 Exclusive Villains, New Storyline and Two Skylanders Toys Not Available in Any Other Starter Pack

Fans Can Now Play Multiplayer Skylanders Skystones for the First Time on Nintendo 3DS

Skylanders® fans can go on a villain vanquishing adventure this Autumn with Skylanders Trap Team for Nintendo 3DS as they take on the evil Dream Sheep and 13 other villains exclusive to the platform. Launching day and date on 10th October with the console and tablet versions of the game from Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI), Skylanders Trap Team for Nintendo 3DS features an all-new adventure with its own levels, locations and gameplay.  The game also uses the special features of the system, which gives players the ability to experience unique interactions with the captured villains. Additionally, Skylanders Trap Team on Nintendo 3DS introduces a multiplayer version of the fan-favourite card game Skylanders Skystones that uses Wi-Fi connectivity, marking the first time Portal Masters can play the mini-game with friends and family.

Skylanders Trap Team takes advantage of the interactive features of Nintendo 3DS in fun ways. For instance, after villains are defeated in combat, players can use the bottom Touch Screen to pull them out of the game and trap them in the Traptanium Vault.  Then, once captured, players can use the Touch Screen and microphone to poke, tickle and spin villains to make them dizzy.

Using the Portal of Power® included in the Skylanders Trap Team Nintendo 3DS Starter Pack, players can load in their Skylanders characters directly into the system, allowing greater flexibility for playing on the go. Additionally, two powerful Skylanders characters will be available at launch only via the Nintendo 3DS Starter Pack -- Gusto, a Trap Master with an oversized TraptaniumTM Boomerang that delivers the ultimate blow to bad guys; and Barkley, the Mini version of Skylanders Giants’TM Tree Rex.

Throughout the game, Portal Masters can summon captured villains to unleash devastating attacks and fight side-by-side with their Skylander.  They can also play as captured villains in 13 unique villain “bootcamps” created by the evil Dream Sheep, the master villain in the game. Additionally, players can discover each Trap Master’s signature Trap Attack by collecting TraptaniumTM orbs dropped by enemies when defeated, enabling players to wipe out evil foes with one awesome attack.

The Nintendo 3DS version of Skylanders Trap Team also enables fans to play with all of the toys from Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure®Skylanders GiantsTM and Skylanders SWAP ForceTM, enabling true cross-platform play.  All of the characters’ abilities, levels and customisation will carry forward into Skylanders Trap Team.

An ill-tempered sheep and master of nightmares from the Realm of Dreams – who is on a quest to become ruler of Skylands!

This frighteningly accurate Nightmare Elf can shoot the middle out of a gold piece and have it rain down change… which he then puts in his own pockets.

A fortune teller from the Nightmare Fair with a hidden flair for evil… and shoes.

Sick and tired of turtles being pushed around, Sheldon started the Secret Turtle Liberation Front… of which he is still the only member.

This armor plated bird was an absolute nightmare growing up… much to the delight of his proud parents.

A menacing invader of dreams that should be approached with extreme caution partly because he is dangerous, but mostly because he has never taken a bath.

What this bird sorcerer lacks in size he more than makes up for with his extraordinary magical abilities… not to mention his remarkable fashion sense.

Plagued all of his life by chronic foot odor, it's been said that when Marf invades peoples' dreams, they often wake with fright from the smell alone.

Olaf has always been an avid bird watcher, and while it's true that he ate many of those birds, some say that this was a sign that he wasn’t ALL bad.

Originally a captain in the Nightmare Navy, this Nightmare Pirate left the service when he accidently cut the pants off of an admiral while trying to shake his hand.

This Nightmare Chompy leaves a trail of fire wherever he goes… which excludes him from participating in his favorite pastime – snowball fights.

While this Nightmare Troll may not be physically imposing, his skill as a marksman is legendary – as is his appetite for waffles.

During his downtime from being a Nightmare Villain, Bucktooth is actually the lead singer for well-known band Purple Nightmare Funk Parade.

Not much is known about this Nightmare Chompy, especially since most everyone who comes in contact with her is mysteriously eaten.

Unique Platform Integration – Skylanders Trap Team on Nintendo 3DS utilizes the platform’s fun and interesting system capabilities. Players will use the Nintendo 3DS’ Touch Screen to intensify the capture vortex to pull the villains out of the game and trap them in the Traptanium Prison, which is represented in the bottom screen. Once villains are captured, players can use the Touch Screen and microphone to interact with them -- poke, tickle, and spin them to make them dizzy. The villains are then stored in the Traptanium Vault until players send them back in the game in the fight for good.

Improved Portable Experience – Skylanders Trap Team offers increased portability by letting players load in their Skylanders characters directly into the hand-held console. Once players capture villains, they can summon them to unleash devastating attacks and fight side-by-side with Skylanders, as well as play as those captured villains in 13 unique “boot camp” levels created by the evil Dream Sheep to train his minions.

Skylander/Villain Team Gameplay– In Skylanders Trap Team, Portal Masters can play as a Skylander while capturing Skylands’ most wanted foes and unleash them for good. It’s up to players to find these villains and capture them in the game. Once villains are captured, they can be unleashed to fight right alongside the Skylanders to assist players in battling Skylands’ notorious enemies.

New Cast of Characters –A brand new group of Skylanders, known as Trap Masters, lead the charge armed with their oversized crystal weapons in the fight against 14 unique villains. The game introduces more than 50 new playable Skylanders heroes, including:
New Trap Master Skylanders
New Core Skylanders
Reposed, fan-favorite Skylanders
New and returning Playable Minis
New Playable In-Game Villains Unique to Nintendo 3DS
