Secrets of the Titanic

My wife plays many hidden mystery games on the iPad, so when we were offered the chance to review the Hidden Mysteries: Titanic game for the Nintendo DS, we thought we’d give it a go.

The first thing to say is that the developer team behind this game have actually got something right – they have considered the fact of screen size.  While many of these hidden mystery games are simply PC games converted to suit a portable console, it seems that this time some thought about the people playing this one and the console screen size has been considered.

When you’re in the search mode, the screen is magnified in the area that you are looking.  This is one huge benefit to this game. Because of the magnification of the screen, this meant not getting frustrated with searching for tiny items on a tiny screen.  However, it’s not a hard game at all and in fact was completed fairly quickly, aside from the hidden object part of the game there are also several mini-games, interactive characters etc, but the mini games were very simple to play and the people on board were not overly enthralling.

Basically you play Eva, who, after wearing her grandmothers necklace, is transported back to a lovely April day, however she finds herself aboard the fateful Titanic.
Through a series of flash backs, Eva must decide whether she lets fate take its course and leave the Titanic to sink to the murky depths of the ocean, taking hundreds of lives in the process – or should she change the path of history forever and risk changing the future where what happens is completely unknown to her. Will she even exist in a changed future?

Secrets of the Titanic is a basic hidden-object and simply logic mini games game, but if you’re in need of a new game for a flight or train journey, then buying this second hand maybe the answer to help pass time. It’s not a new game, so picking it up at a fairly cheap price should be possible.
