Merlin fans will have a brand new video game to look forward to this autumn as
Avanquest® Software Publishing and FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has
announced the release of a new Nintendo DS™ game. Merlin
- A Servant of Two Masters is an
exciting puzzle/adventure game based on the series four episode of the same
name, which sees Merlin fall under Morgana’s spell, becoming a deadly weapon in
her fight for supremacy.
The
game will add to Avanquest’s successful portfolio of licensed TV properties
which includes well-known brands such as Eggheads,
Coronation Street, Fireman Sam, Timmy Time and Noddy. The game’s creators have worked closely with Johnny Capps
and Julian Murphy, the award winning creators and executive producers at Shine
TV Ltd, and FME, who have invested in the series and hold the exclusive distribution, home entertainment and licensing rights
to the show.
Merlin: A
Servant of Two Masters features a mix of hidden-object adventure scenes and
over 15 spell-binding puzzles and mini-action games. Players must help
characters from the TV show including Merlin, Arthur, Gaius and Guinevere,
progress through the levels of the game and ultimately try to free Merlin from
Morgana’s spell. Test your hidden-object skills and help Arthur and the heroes
of Camelot in this daring quest to save Merlin!
First broadcast in the UK in 2008,
FME has now sold Merlin to more than
50 broadcasters in over 180 countries, including the US on Syfy, MICO in Japan,
Network 10 in Australia and RTL in Germany. The last series of the show pulled
in regular UK audiences of over seven million viewers per episode on BBC One.
The game is due for release on 26th
October to coincide with the launch of the fifth BBC TV series, and will be
supported by marketing and PR activity in target media, along with pre-order
campaigns with GAME, Amazon and Play.com.
