Final countdown to UK’s only publicly voted Award at the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards
As gamers vote in their hundreds of thousands, GAME urges the public to get voting to make their favourite game a winner

With only a few days to go until voting polls close, GAME, sponsor of the British Academy Video Games Awards, is urging gamers across the UK to get their votes in for their favourite game of 2011 to help us make this a record breaking year for the BATFA GAME Award.

Since the shortlist was selected by a panel of esteemed representatives and media experts including The Gadget Show’s Jason Bradbury, Johnny Minkley (Eurogamer), Jonathon Pile (Shortlist), Neil Long (Official Nintendo Magazine) and John Hicks (Official Xbox Magazine) gaming fans have been frantically voting for their favourite game.

As a reminder to fans who’ve yet to cast their all important vote, voting closes at 5pm on 13th March atwww.BAFTAGAMEAWARD.com and as an extra incentive, voters will be entered into a prize draw to win a Limited Edition Star Wars Xbox 360 console with Kinect. This year’s shortlist is the ultimate David and Goliath list, with heavyweights from 2011 such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, FIFA 12, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Battlefield 3 up against more niche titles such as Minecraft and Portal 2.

L.A. Noire, critics favourite Batman: Arkham City and Unchartered 3: Drake’s Deception are also in the mix while in its 25thanniversary year, cult fans of the Legend of Zelda could have more to celebrate as Skyward Sword completes the line-up.

Anna-Marie Mason, Marketing Director at GAME said: “The BAFTA GAME Award is an award we are really proud of as it gives our customers the chance to get their opinion heard and with just days to go we want every single gamer out there to get their vote in.  We’ve been delighted with the voting numbers so far and it shows again what a passionate group of people gamers are. However, we want even more people to get behind their favourite game in the next few days so that on 16th March the nation’s favourite game not only has the  accolade of being a BAFTA GAME Award winner but also knows they were chosen as the nation’s favourite game by a record number of public votes.”
