UBISOFT'S JUST DANCE 3 BEATS OUT OCTOBER COMPETITION ON WII

Just Dance, the world’s No. 1 dance brand, continues to garner positive reception from consumers as Just Dance 3 becomes the best-selling game on the Wii™ system from Nintendo for the month of October in North America and EMEA territories, according to the most recent report from the NPD Group as well as an analysis from GFK Group.

Just Dance 3 was released in the UK on the Wii system from Nintendo and Kinect for Xbox 360 on October 11, 2011, and worldwide the game is already selling approximately 85 percent higher than its predecessor Just Dance 2, which was previously a Wii-exclusive title. The Just Dance franchise has produced the No. 1 Wii game for the past 12 of 13 months of NPD reports (Just Dance 3 once, Just Dance 2 ten times, Just Dance Summer Party once).

“Just Dance is a blockbuster brand for Ubisoft,” said Rob Cooper, Managing Director, UK at Ubisoft. “The game’s mainstream appeal has helped broaden the appeal of video games to the mass market. Ubisoft anticipates that the strong sales trend for Just Dance 3 will continue to grow as we head into the holiday season. The social aspect of the game makes it the perfect game to play during the holidays with friends and family.”

To date, the Just Dance franchise, which includes Just Dance, Just Dance 2, Just Dance Kids, Just Dance Kids 2 and Just Dance Summer Party has sold-in more than 17 million units worldwide. Ubisoft will release Just Dance 3 on the PlayStation Move for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system on December 9, 2011.
