 Ice Age 4: Continental Drift

The movies are delighting children all over the UK this summer and have done since the beginning, but what about the games. Well this is the first one we've reviewed in full and frankly we're extremely disappointed.  Not so much by the game idea but the game controls.

Anyway let me give you an overview of the game, imagine winter sports with characters from the film. Firstly pick whether you're going to be part of the good guys or the bad! After that it's all about getting the fastest time, or the most points on your way to becoming the victor!

Whether you're skiing downhill in slalom mode, sling shooting coconuts across the icy water, ice smashing or glacier hopping the overall aim is to beat your opponent while collecting as many acorns as you can along the way.

The controls of this game are actually terrible. The instructions tell you to either use the d-pad, toggles and buttons or motion functions of the controller, but I couldn't get the buttons to work at all in any of the sporting activities. Using the motion controller made it awkward to play and I'm certain children would struggle to play this game properly.

Quite simply, if I was a school teacher I'd mark this as a 'can do better' project.
