The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth Now Available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android Devices from Kabam and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

Kabam, a leader in massively multiplayer games for connected devices and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have launched The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth App for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices. The free-to-play strategy game is inspired by The Hobbit Trilogy, a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM).  Peter Jackson’s film trilogy, which begins with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, is based on the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien. The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth is now available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

“Kabam has crafted a mobile game that will thrill strategy gamers and The Hobbit film fans alike,” said Andrew Sheppard, President of Kabam Game Studios. “We’re excited to partner with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to deliver a free-to-play game for iOS and Android that fans can experience wherever they go.”

The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth challenges players to create their own empire in Middle-earth.  Set in this epic world of Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and Wizards, The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth calls on players to build a kingdom, forge powerful alliances and strategize with other gamers to purge Middle-earth of all who oppose them.

“We expect The Hobbit Trilogy to be one of the biggest events in entertainment history,” said Greg Ballard, Senior Vice President, Digital Games, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth provides an interactive way for film fans to engage in the adventure as they explore the characters, conflicts and locations in this epic fantasy world.”

The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth is available to play in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese. The game is developed and operated by Kabam, and co-published by Kabam and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.  The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age, a free-to-play game for the web, is also in development and will be available later this year.

The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-Earth App is available for Android devices on Google Play Store and in the App Store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or at  www.itunes.com/appstore.
