GAME Stores Caught In a Digital Blizzard

GAME, the UK’s leading video games retailer, is teaming up with Blizzard Entertainment to offer customers new and exciting ways to pay for Blizzard’s digital content, as it begins selling Battle.net Gift Cards, throughout its UK stores.

GAME will be amongst the first retailers in the UK to stock these gift cards, which will bring services previously only available digitally via Blizzard’s online gaming service, Battle.net to store shelves, as it builds on its extensive digital offering.

For the first time, GAME customers will be able to purchase Blizzard digital credit in store, which is redeemable against the entire Blizzard portfolio of digital services available on Battle.net. Customers will also be able to take advantage of the brilliant trade-in offers* available at GAME, trading in pre-owned content to pay for Battle.net credit.

The gift cards, activated via scratch codes which are then redeemable online on Battle.net, can be used to purchase an array of digital content for Blizzard Entertainment’s blockbuster franchises including: World of Warcraft, Diablo III, StarCraft II and Hearthstone. Those looking to pick up their Battle.net Gift Cards on Monday 24th March will also be able to put the credit towards the new Diablo III expansion, Reaper of Souls, when it launches on Tuesday 25th March.

Ian Chambers, Chief Digital Officer at GAME says: “Bringing Battle.net gift cards to our store shelves gives gamers even more ways to purchase digital content through GAME. We’re opening up digital to more and more customers through whichever channel they shop in and giving them a wide range of ways to pay for it. For those who are yet to embrace digital gaming, our expert store teams are on hand to give advice and help customers discover just what’s on offer.”

The Battle.net Gift Cards will be available in denominations of £15.
