Club Penguin reveals top kids’ party must haves

Club Penguin reveals top kids’ party must haves

“Eat my shorts”, “Experlliamus” and “Beat Again” might seem an odd choice of dinner conversation, but when you hear that Bart Simpson (47%), Harry Potter (46%) and the pop band JLS (30%) topped the list of kid’s ideal party guests it makes a bit more sense!
To celebrate the launch of the NEW Lyric DJ game, Club Penguin [1]   - the snow-capped virtual world that plays host to millions of children throwing their own themed igloo parties commissioned research to find out what 8-12 year olds would want to make their dream party. When posed with the classic question: Which celebrities would you invite?  Bart, Harry and JLS topped the guest list as their most wanted.
Surprisingly, Princess Kate (17%) who captured the heart of the nation just a few months ago didn’t even make the top ten. Only Cheryl Cole, Miley Cyrus and avant-garde pop star Lady Gaga made the cut for the girls.
But there were more unlikely choices from the boys and girls...
  • Over half (56%) of boys chose the mischievous, animated Bart Simpson as their favourite celebrity guest ahead of sporting role models David Beckham (35%) and Lewis Hamilton (25%)
  • Despite the enchantment of the Royal Wedding, today’s young girls would rather have the magic of a wizard themed party (14%)
  • And almost half (44%) of girls opted for studious Harry Potter as their number one guest over heart throbs Robert Pattison (9%) and Prince William (17%)!
Everyone knows you can’t have a party without music and JLS were a clear favourite, with the British band ranking not only as the third most wanted guests, but also topping the chart of most popular bands to play, ahead of the likes of Black Eyed Peas (29%), Katy Perry (28%) and Rihanna (25%).
It’s no different on the island of Club Penguin, for a great party music is a must and that’s why Club Penguin has Lyric DJ - a fun game that lets kids enjoy party music with their friends whilst competing to be Top of the Pops. All they need is a group of friends and their favourite music and by mixing lines from their top tracks they can rock the stage and compete to be top of the igloo charts.
Club Penguin, one of the largest virtual worlds, is enjoyed by millions of kids across the UK and is valued by parents for its commitment to safety.  Kids can create their own penguin, by logging on to   ClubPenguin.com , to navigate the colourful online world playing games, going undercover on spy missions or walking their pet Puffles.  Penguins can shop for new outfits on The Plaza with the coins they’ve earned, mix dance music in the Night Club to play for their friends invited to party in their igloo.
