30,000 visitors make the first ever GAMEfest a hit show set return next year!

16 th September 2011 - 30,000 gamers are set to descend on the Birmingham NEC over the next three days as GAME, the UK’s leading games retailer, holds its first inaugural gaming event, GAMEfest.

The three day gaming extravaganza, which open its doors today (Friday 16 th September), will welcome 30,000 gamers across the country to the NEC, where they will get the chance to play the newest and most exciting games ahead of their official UK release dates.

GAME has also announced that thanks to the success of ticket sales, GAMEfest will be back again next year. So those not lucky enough to get their hands on Saturday or Sunday’s sold out tickets, will be able to book early for 2012’s ultimate gaming event.

To help make GAMEfest the ultimate gaming event in the UK, GAME has partnered with some of the industry’s top publishers including: Nintendo,Sony , Microsoft, EA and Activision. The publishers will be displaying their most hotly anticipated games of the year at the event for the first time anywhere in the country.

With the likes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Gears of War 3 and Batman: Arkham City playable for the first time at the event, gamers will not be left disappointed. There will also be chances to see demonstrations from top publishers as they take to the stage and show exactly what fans can expect from some of the titles coming up over the next few months.

GAME UK marketing director Anna-Marie Mason said: “It’s fantastic that publishers and our customers are so excited about GAMEfest, which has helped make it such a success.

With a great lineup of titles this year we can’t wait for our customers to finally get hands-on with some of the newest and biggest games of this year before anyone else. They’re going to love what we have at this year’s ultimate gaming event. GAMEfest has had such an amazing response that we’re delighted to confirm that we’ll be back again next year. We’re already working on the plans and expect it to be bigger and better than this year’s successful event.”
